Kisum (키썸) was the Hot New Face in the Kpoppin Studio with DJ Isak. Kisum debuted in 2013 under Mapps Entertainment (맵스엔터테인먼트).


– She was part of the survival program Unpretty Rap Star (Season 1), and 쇼미더머니 (Show Me The Money (Season 3)).
– Kisum was trained as an idol, but gave that up to focus on being a rapper.
– Although she is from Seoul, but her nickname is “경기도의 딸 (daughter from Gyunggi).”
– She was on variety “경기G버스 (Gyunggi G Bus)” where she got her nickname.
– While on the survival shows she had to do a lot of disrespectful raps, but songs like “You & Me” show her true colors.
– Kisum has lots of love for Cheetah, fellow Unpretty Rap Star participant.
– She considers herself to be the type of person who doesn’t lose.

Q: Why the name Kisum?
A: Backwards it spells musik which is how several country spell music. She wanted to give the message “I am Musik.”

Q: Are you into public relationships?
A: No, because she doesn’t want people taking advantage of the relationship. She doesn’t want to hear people say she made this, or that mistake because she is dating so and so, or because she was spending time with her boyfriend.

Q: How do you want a guy to approach you?
A: The guy shouldn’t be obvious about the fact that he is trying to ask her out.

Ukulele Picnic (우쿨렐레 피크닉) was the Kpop Rising guest in the SuperKpop studio with DJ Sam. Ukulele Picnic is an indie band that debuted in 2010 under From Charlie Label (프럼찰리 레이블).

The members::
Byung Hoon (이병훈) – Leader, producer, ukulele
Jin Ah (김진아) – Vocal, percussion, ukulele, Korean harp
Young Goo (홍영구) – Maknae

About the music::
When asked what kind of music they play Ukulele Picnic responded with Korean popular music, but with ukuleles.


– Byung Hoon’s English name Charlie.
– Jin Ah looks like a foreigner.
– Byung Hoon goes tot he ocean to get inspiration.
– Byung Hoon taught DJ Sam how to play a the children song “The Three Bears (곰 세 마리)” on the ukulele.
– Jin Ah and Young Goo learned how to play the ukulele from Byung Hoon. Byung Hoon says Jin Ah is like a genius, because she learned several chords in one day.
– During their free time: Charlie watches movies, and Young Goo reads books.

Q: Why the name Ukulele Picnic?
A: Ukulele because they play ukuleles, and Picnic because they want to give feel good easy listening music.

Q: What countries would you like to visit in the future?
A: Byung Hoon – South America (Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia)

Q: How did you met each other?
A: Jin Ah featured on a few Ukulele Picnic tracks, and end up a permanent member.

Q: How long have you been playing the ukulele?
A: Byung Hoon has been playing for 5 years, and taught himself how to play the ukulele.

Q: What kind of music do you like the most?
A: Young Goo – ballads
Jin Ah – variety of music, including dance

McKay (맥케이)


McKay (맥케이) was the Hot New Face in the Kpoppin studio with DJ Isak. McKay debuted in Summer 2015 under Dorothy Company (도로시컴퍼니).

About the music::
McKay wrote “Month of June” in high school during the summer of 2008. He considers it to be a really cheesy song he wrote for his first love.


– He was on audition survival show Kpop Star 4.
– McKay was not really into the Kpop world before he ended up in it.
– He was born in Michigan, and had recently moved to California before going to Korea.
– McKay helped mom out with her Sushi business, getting what he claims to be discount wages.
– He was the praise band leader for his home church.
– McKay used to have a dream to be Profession NFL player, but he slowly gave up on that because his body refuse to keep up with that dream.
– He doesn’t believe he is a manly man but a girly girl that loves sports and being out doors.
– He says he is a terrible cook.
– McKay believes in fate when it comes to love.
– He is not into openly public relationships, he would tell his company and his mom.
– The first song he learned on the guitar was Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours”

Q: How has the journey been for you since your Kpop Star days?
A: It feels as though in the blink of an eye he was on Kpop Star then another blink, and his was part of Raccoon Boys then another blink, and he was signed to a company.

Q: Ideal type?
A: He is into the cute style of girls.

Q: Which female artist would you like to collaborate with?
A: As of right now IU, and Jessi.

Q: Why are you not doing variety and various music shows?
A: He claims to be very bad at Korean, and is taking private lessons.

N*White (앤화이트) was the Star Close-up in the Kpoppin studio with DJ Isak. N*White debuted in 2013 under J&J Entertainment (J&J 엔터테인먼트).

The members::
Soo Hyun (수현) – Leader, main vocal
Ha Kyung (하경) – vocal
Soo Bin (수빈) – Rap, vocal


– Ha Kyung has experience with acting, and the members think her acting was on point for the music video.
– Soo Hyun admits to falls in love in the blink of an eye.
– The members think Soo Bin is gradually getting prettier everyday, and is also little too conscious of how she looks.
– Soo Hyun’s hidden talent is imitating SNSD’s Tae Yeon.
– The members think Soo Hyun eats the most.
– The members say Ha Kyung’s private image is completely different from the one she shows on TV.
– The relieve stress and relax they eat.
– Their album Paradise has a concept of Peter Pan and Wendy.

A: N*White stands for natural white. They want to give the impression that they can transform any genre into their own style.
